The PSM156 builds upon the brilliance of the legendary PSM136 retaining the precision symmetrically balanced circuitry and 6 fully independent outputs. Increasing the number of independently tuned filter elements from 39 to 52 enables your system to deliver even greater delicacy and detail whilst enhancing dynamics and punch.
The PSM156 will lift your system into a new dimension. Definition takes an enormous stride forward, individual instruments gain air between them with their sound and timbre becoming believable, the sound-stage will move out of your speakers and into the room with gains in three dimensionality with clarity definition and space between the instruments for them to interrelate rather than muddle each other. Since I upgraded my CDP to Roksan and Speakers to DALI 2years ago, I was really satisfied a quality of the sound except one concern of the bass not natural enough and loud from a few CDs no matter how I changed speaker setting.
I now introduced the PSM156 and the result was unbelievable. I got not only a reality of Bass sound on any JAZZ music, but also much purer and clean piano, drums… There was also no exception on classic music.
It seems very expensive product compared with other HiFi unit, but the result is unexpectedly great, although I have not tried PSM136 to see the difference between.
If you have reasonably good HiFi components but you are not satisfied fully somehow, you should try PSM156 first. It will provide a real ability of your system.

As a returning customer I initially contacted Richard about an upgrade to the latest version of my amplifier. I had seen a couple of reviews on the Puritan range of mains Purifiers and seen a demonstration a few years ago of their products at the Ascot Hi End show. I have heard a few mains conditioners over the years and not been impressed with them as the music was clean but somehow crushed.
A chat with Richard assured me that Puritan were a different proposition and came well recommended by himself. So I bit the bullet and ordered and PSM156 with a 2 metre Classic Plus power cord and wondered if this was going to be worthwhile.
Once it all arrived my equipment was connected up and off we went. I have been dabbling in Hi-Fi for over 50 years so it is very rare that I hear something that takes me by surprise. But boy does this deliver!
Everything just sounds so real. Pianos, guitars, drums in fact everything all sound so natural with great space around them and improved depth. Voices now just immerge from and inky black background. locked solidly in place and again sound so real. Quite a revalation infact. One of the best things though is that it doesn’t matter whatever time of day I listen to my system it always sounds exactly the same. So clearly the Puritan is doing what it is designed to do. And no crushed dynamics that many other (and more expensive) mains ‘conditioners’ seem to do.
I also bought the Ground Master and have now run an earth lead out to an external earth spike. This is also very benificial especially in the bass where it has become so deep and textured and even more space and depth. So if you are able to then this is worth the effort.
All in all this has been one of the best purchases I have made and considering just what it has revealed in my system is something of a hi-fi bargain in my opinion. This is a product made by people who obviously know what they are doing and not by a company who jump of the bandwagon of whatever product is flavour of the month. If you get a chance to hear this then please do so as I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
