Description
Inakustik Reference LS204
Inakustik Reference LS204 is a high-performance loudspeaker cable at a very reasonable price, it uses cutting-edge materials and manufacturing technologies.
With REFERENZ MICRO AIR series we are continuing the history of AIR technology: As with the legendary AIR helix cables, air is a central component of the insulation concept of the new REFERENZ MICRO AIR technology. Due to the low loudspeaker impedances, however, low line resistances and a low level of inductance are also very important for loudspeaker cables. For this reason, a total of 6 concentric copper conductors are used in the Inakustik Reference LS204 XL MICRO AIR in addition to the air dielectric. Thanks to this multicore architecture, the magnetic fields of the plus and minus conductors overlap and neutralize each other. This significantly reduces the inductance of the cable, which guarantees an unadulterated transmission of the audio signal over a wide frequency spectrum. Following our approach, the LS-204XL has a balanced sound character with precise timing that sits enthroned on a sovereignly controlled foundation. This cable is designed primarily for full-size floorstanding speakers. Of course, sound is always to be assessed subjectively and not least depends on the overall constellation of a hi-fi system. At the end of the day, your very own hearing impression is decisive. Of course, sound is always to be assessed subjectively and not least depends on the overall constellation of a hi-fi system. MICRO AIR TECHNOLOGY
Laws of nature cannot be switched off. It can only be used skillfully. Due to these laws of nature, every cable has so-called parasitic effects. This includes, among other things, the capacity – i.e. the fact that a cable, like a battery, temporarily stores energy and releases it again with a delay. An effect that strongly influences the transmission of audio signals and is undesirable. The line capacitance is a physical phenomenon, the size of which depends on various factors. An essential one is the insulation material, i.e. the so-called dielectric, which can increase the capacitance many times over. Air, on the other hand, does not and is therefore the ideal insulator. Part of the insulation of the MICRO AIR technology is a complex, diamond-shaped structure. The chambers created by this construction increase the distance between the conductors and increase the amount of air in the insulation. In this way, annoying capacities are reduced and the transmission properties for the sensitive audio signals are optimised.
CONCENTRIC COPPER
In contrast to conventional conductor structures, in which the arrangement of the individual wires in a conductor is chaotic, the arrangement of the wires in concentric copper conductors is subject to a precisely defined scheme in which the wires are precisely arranged in several layers. This structure reduces irregular contact points between the wires, which harmonises the signal flow and minimizes time differences. Impulses can be reproduced with pinpoint accuracy and the spatial information of the music is retained. A thin layer of polyethylene protects the high-purity copper from oxygen and thus from oxidation.

THE CONNECTIONS
The Inakustik REFERENCE LS204 MICRO AIR is assembled with BFA bananas or cable lugs, or it is available as an easy-plug variant. The surfaces of the BFA Bananas and the cable lugs are finished with a rhodium layer and are therefore extremely hard-wearing. The contact surfaces and the screw connection of the cable lugs are made from one piece, which avoids contact resistance. The laterally slotted contact surface deforms in a concave manner when the device terminals are tightened, thus preventing the cable lugs from slipping out.
OUR CABLE MANUFACTURER
The REFERENZ cables with MICRO AIR technology, like the AIR HELIX cables, are manufactured in our own factory in Germany. In addition to the complex, manual assembly of the cables, this naturally also includes the corresponding quality control. Every cable is put through its paces after production. Functional tests as well as mechanical tests are carried out. And of course we also check the live performance as part of product development. For the greatest possible precision and low-loss signal transmission.
