Totem Acoustic Bison Monitor
The Totem Acoustic Bison Monitor is a high-performance monitor loudspeaker, the smallest in the latest Bison range – it offers outstanding performance borrowing technology and know-how from the amazing Totem Element Fire 2 stand-mount speaker.
The newly developed woofer is the result of four generations of development that provides a greater dynamic capability and when combined with a 43% increase in the cabinet volume versus the SKY Monitor. The “plug and play” monitor is both easy to drive and flexible with regards to placement. Further, the Bison Monitor can resurrect live recording ambience and create great separation of instruments, all the while remaining cohesive sonically. There have also been improvements to bass foundation.
Designed as a replacement and upgrade to the beloved SKY series, the Bison had its work cut out for it. But, with its immersive listening experience and impactful sound, the Bison series has certainly exceeded all expectations.

At the heart of the Bison Monitor is a unique 5-¼” woofer that is equipped with an oversized 3” voice coil wound with flat wire. This advanced technique avoids air gaps in the coil, allowing for an incredibly long throw and an astounding power handling. The woofer, in keeping with Totem’s tradition, is crossed over seamlessly to ensure that every sound detail is perfectly delivered.
The Bison Monitor also features a tweeter designed to Totem’s exacting specifications. This neodymium activated, 1.3” laser-etched, textile, soft dome tweeter extends up to 30kHz and is low enough to contribute to the mid-range band, creating an uncanny charm. Together, the woofer and tweeter deliver an immersive sound that is unmatched in the luxury bookshelf category.
The artisan cabinet design is another highlight of the Bison Monitor. The lock-mitred, monocoque cabinetry features incorporated full cross bracing, making it four times as rigid as V groove assembly. The extra gluing surface area allows for expansion and contraction over many decades without any sonic degradation whatsoever.
With a sensitivity of 87 db, impedance of 8 ohm, and frequency response of 40 Hz to 29.5 kHz ± 3 dB, the Bison Monitor delivers a sound that is crisp, clear, and powerful.
