Inakustik Reference LS-2404 Air Pure Silver
Inakustik Reference LS-2404 Air Pure Silver is a super-high-end loudspeaker cable that will bring out the very best in audiophile reference systems.
AIR technology is a milestone in our more than 40-year company history and is causing a sensation in the hi-fi industry worldwide. The approach sounds relatively banal: The physically induced losses must be minimized in order to transmit the original music signal as unchanged and neutrally as possible. And with AIR technology you come closer to lossless transmission than ever before. It leads to a significantly better sound reproduction, which is not only subjectively audible, but also objectively measurable. The insulation or the dielectric of the AIR cables is almost perfect thanks to the air insulation and hardly affects the sound.
In theory, the copper cross-section could simply be increased. To do this, however, considerable compromises would have to be made in the cable structure – with an ultimately negative effect on the sound. That is why we decided to deliberately ignore the costs and instead consistently expand the limits of what is possible. The result is a combination of the legendary AIR-Helix construction and the associated air insulation (in addition to the vacuum, the best possible dielectric) with the best conductor material in the form of the purest silver – instead of, for example, alloyed or simply silver-plated cores. This effort has clearly paid off: The high-quality sound of the outstanding AIR-Silver cables is now setting new standards in the high-end area.
AIR INSULATION & FLEXIBILITY
The AIR-Helix construction is absolutely unique. To get as close as possible to perfect air insulation, we have developed special clips. Inside the cable, a large number of these clips form the load-bearing structure, which holds the signal conductors free in the air in a helix and guides them through the cable at a defined distance.
THE LADDER
Of course, the leaders themselves also play a major role. They consist of 24 high-purity silver wires that are braided on a PE core. A wafer-thin layer of lacquer on the wires prevents eddy currents within this “Cross Link Super Speed” waveguide. This also protects the wires from oxidation. By far the largest currents in the entire audio chain flow through the speaker cable. Part of the correspondingly strong magnetic fields are compensated in the conductors themselves by the bifilar arrangement of the wires.
DOUBLE LAYER MULTICORE
The realization that loudspeaker cables should primarily have a low inductance is optimally implemented in the LS-2404 AIR Pure Silver: Due to the two-layer arrangement of the double layer multicore, the magnetic fields generated around the individual conductors overlap and neutralize each other. This significantly reduces the inductance of the cable and the high audio frequencies are also transported unhindered and without time lag.
HANDMADE IN GERMANY
“Made in Germany” like all loudspeaker and audio cables in the reference series, the LS-1204 AIR Pure Silver is also completely manufactured in Germany, and the clips are carefully threaded and assembled by hand in the in-house factory. The resulting Air-Helix then receives the PE network jacket by hand before the connectors are fitted and the cable is checked for proper function. Instead of brass, we use tellurium copper as the base material for the connectors, as it has almost twice the conductivity compared to brass. In a complex process, a specially developed machine is used to remove the lacquer layer from the high-purity copper wires of the “Cross Link Super Speed” waveguide. The bare wires are then pressed directly to the connectors under 1.5 tons of pressure. In this way, contact resistances can be achieved using additional materials such as B. Avoid solder or wire-end sleeves. The surfaces of the connectors are coated with rhodium, an extremely robust material that guarantees constant contact properties even after many mating cycle
