UP-OCC copper conductors
UP-OCC wire is often described as ‘single crystal’ and is as pure a copper as its possible to create. It has some remarkable properties, it is a true unidirectional copper, its flexible and resists movement fatigue without impairing conductive characteristics. With very low electrical resistance and rapid signal transmission, it is the ultimate copper material for pure audio sound and A/V cables.
Audiophile ‘air-tight’ connectors
We specify pure silver plating over the high purity brass signal pins, which are attached to the UP-OCC wire with silver loaded solder. The ground cable (plus the shield at one end) are soldered to the gold-plated high purity brass grounding shield. The grounding shield ‘locks’ onto the grounding part of the RCA socket for an air tight contact – offering the best sound quality long term.
Multi-Layer dielectric insulation
UNITY RCA cables are constructed with the multi-layer dielectric insulation (as described above) to reject RF and electromagnetic interference. This ensures that signal purity is maintained under all conditions. It is essential that signal wires are not picking up interference of any kind – but also, that the shielding is not itself interfering with the signal wires.
Cryogenically treated
All UNITY cables undergo deep cryogenic treatment, a process that cold anneals the wires and connectors. This process reduces ‘audio colouration’ and enhances all aspects of the sound quality, bringing it that much closer to perfection. No one has exactly identified how this process improves the quality of non-ferrous materials, there is no material change to be seen under an electron microscope, but we know it has a seriously beneficial effect on the transmitted musical signal.
